DeSantis’ failures in leadership have sown confusion among Floridians and hobbled the state’s vaccine distribution program.
The Biden administration is pushing a massive COVID vaccine rollout at pharmacies across the country.
Vaccine distribution centers that are open 24 hours a day have proven to inoculate many more people than centers that are only open during traditional business hours. So far, New York and Phoenix are the only major US cities to adopt them.
“A vaccine that’s inexpensive, that’s a single dose, and that has no cold-chain requirements—that’s pretty good,” said Dr. Anthony Fauci.
The trend to pay workers to get vaccinated comes as public health officials address vaccine hesitancy, a hurdle in the nation’s quest to end the pandemic.
At least three cases of the easily spread variant are confirmed. Experts encourage people to continue with safety measures and the vaccination process.
Although widespread across the state, the cases are concentrated in South Florida’s Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach Counties.
The national press secretary said the state has a fair amount of doses while the state’s governor insists they need more and does not support Biden’s distribution plan.
The president signed an executive order to increase purchases from US manufacturers to accelerate the pace of vaccinations.
“Vaccines for everybody, especially for the most vulnerable and needy,” Pope Francis said.
