The former representative has already decided on the 20 organizations that will benefit from the money leftover.
Former Democratic US Rep. and gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist will donate remaining campaign financial contributions to 20 organizations across Florida.
Crist lost against Gov. Ron DeSantis in the midterm elections last week, and is now clearing out his campaign account. A Florida campaign finance law requires candidates to dispose of all leftover campaign funds within 90 days after an election.
Crist has already decided which organizations will benefit from the money remaining. They work with issues that affect Floridians such as gun reform, reproductive rights, and healthcare access.
Among the groups receiving the funds are Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Ruth’s List Florida, Florida Black Girls, Equal Ground Florida, and People Power of Florida.
Crist had about $531,000 remaining by Nov. 3, according to data from his campaign account. Each organization will receive an equal donation.
