Here at Floricua, we celebrate Puerto Rican women year-round. But in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re highlighting several Boricua women whose dedication, hard work, and achievements have not only benefited their own communities, but all Latinas.
Peso Pluma is the top finalist with 21 nods across 15 categories, including artist of the year, songwriter of the year, global 200 Latin artist of the year, and top Latin album of the year. Bad Bunny, another top finalist, will be performing a new song at the awards, Billboard reports.
The dialect is the result of decades of contact between Spanish and English in South Florida, particularly when speakers translate directly from Spanish.
