The Miami Book Fair Is Going Virtual This Year

Social distancing will not stop book lovers from meeting their favorite authors starting Nov. 15, albeit online. You can register now!

During eight days each November, hundreds of authors and thousands of readers meet at the Wolfson campus of Miami Dade College for the country’s largest book fair, a glorious lovefest for book enthusiasts of all ages and persuasions.

But if you thought that COVID-19 and the need for social distancing were going to stop this anticipated event in its tracks, think again.

Proving that nothing can stand between a book and a book lover, this year the Miami Book Fair is going virtual! Yes, from Nov. 15 to Nov. 22, you can “meet” your favorite authors, and enjoy lectures, workshops, and readings, all from the comfort of your home.

The complete fair schedule will be available at miamibookfair.com on Oct. 15. You can register at the fair’s website or at Miami Book Fair Online. The site goes live on Nov. 15. Some events will be live and some you will be able to watch anytime. 

Enjoy a Veritable Feast of Books

As a registered fairgoer, starting Nov. 1 you will be able to build your personal watchlist. You may also create a profile, and authors will be recommended to you based on your reading interests. 

Some of the fiction authors confirmed for this year include Joyce Carol Oates, Terry McMillan, Lee Child, and suspense master Dean Koontz.

Non-fiction authors include P.J. O’Rourke, Anthony DePalma, and Erin Brockovich of movie fame. 

Poets include Margaret Atwood (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), Heidi Erdrich, and US poet laureate Juan Felipe Herrera, among others.
